Borla ATAK - Real Unedited Sounds Video:
(Use good headphones/speakers)
(Use good headphones/speakers)
We’re not only exhaust fans, but the actual 2021 exhaust competition judges for Corvettes at Carlisle. And both Carlton (Zeus Bronze C8 customer) and I ended up buying the Borla ATAK for our own C8s. We both decided on that independently of each other also. In my case, I heard a stunning sound coming from the installation tents at Carlisle and walked over to the C8 which made the sound. I asked the installer, “What exhaust is this?” And with some condescending annoyance, he said, “Borla ATAK.” I said, “Thanks.” and walked off. It was all I needed to know. I had decided on what I was getting for myself.
Then, since I was sold, I knew others would be too. AEROLARRI then became a Borla-direct dealer. This is important because there are no 3rd-party distributors involved here, unlike most all other retailers. This is a great honor for us. Your order here is placed directly into Borla's production schedule. It's then delivered directly to your door from the factory. Since Borla's production runs are usually sold out with pre-orders before hitting in-stock shelves, this is the most certain way to order a Borla exhaust. Still you can expect a 2-to-3 month wait for delivery if you delay and miss a slot on the soonest run (conservatively). Ordering now is the only way to improve your chances of getting slotted into a run which is finishing soonest.

Borla ATAK for C8 Review from Owner in Video
More Borla ATAK sound videos with NASCAR pit crew team mate.
Polyphonic Harmonizing
Playing the right notes together on a pipe organ creates a satisfying textured sound with dramatically more acoustical depth than a single note. This is the basis for the patented technology of the twin Polyphonic Harmonizers within our C8 system. Using the same principles as an organ, pipes of different diameters and lengths within the Harmonizers are tuned to create our signature ATAK® or S-Type sounds for the C8. A straight-through design ensures zero performance loss.
ATAK vs. S-Type
With computer modeling, extensive prototyping and advanced frequency-spectrum analysis tools, Borla’s acoustic engineers have dramatically enhanced the exhaust note of the C8, creating two options to suit your preference. Choose ATAK® for stadium-level volume with amazing clarity, or S-Type for a slightly more subdued note. Each includes our exclusive Anti-Drone technology that ensures a pleasant in-cabin experience with zero drone for any gear, speed or rpm.
Industry-Leading Heat Shielding
The C8’s mid-engine bay is tightly packed with heat-sensitive parts and critical components, leaving little space for exhaust to cool before exiting the tips. Borla engineers spent countless hours developing an integrated exhaust heat-shield system that ensures the maintenance of safe temperatures. Subjected to relentless testing, this shielding (shown above) has been proven to perform flawlessly under peak driving demands.
The Sound
Strap in. Breathe deep. This isn't going to feel like the stock exhaust. The volume will be higher. The note more aggressive, more scary, more Vette. The Borla C8 performance exhaust with Polyphonic Switchfire® tuning represents over a year of intensive engineering, fabrication and testing by the best minds in the exhaust industry. The result combines dramatically improved sound, upgraded heat shielding and motorsport valving, exclusive technologies and stunning looks in a landmark achievement of automotive art and innovation.
How long is the wait for delivery?
2-to-3 months from the date of order. All Borla exhaust orders are placed directly with the manufacturer via AEROLARRI. There are NO DISTRIBUTORS involved with the purchase here. Borla makes the exhausts in production runs of the different tip types and ATAK or S-Type configurations. When your order is placed here, it gets slotted into the current production schedule. Then it ships. There are usually none in stock nationally since they are usually already pre-sold for the allotments of any production run. Thus, the best way to go is to order here and directly claim a slot on Borla's production schedule.

- System includes AFM and NPP valves
- Valve actuator recalibration required after installation. After installation, the exhaust valve actuators should be re-calibrated according to GM Document ID 5406413. Borla Performance Industries recommends taking your car to the nearest Chevrolet dealer for exhaust valve recalibration services. This takes around 1 hour and should cost around $180. Most exhaust systems require this, but few mention it prior to purchase.
